The primary sector was in line for funding from the Recovery Fund. As announced yesterday, the evaluation of 408 investment projects worth €402,646,799 submitted under the three actions of the National Recovery and Resilience Plan “Greece 2.0”, focused on the primary sector, begins.

The participation of small and medium-sized enterprises in these projects is high. In particular, 386 projects (95% of the total, with a budget of 321,278,309 euros) were submitted by small and medium enterprises.

According to the announcement of the Ministries of Finance and Rural Development and Food, the implementation of all the investments under consideration could lead to the mobilization of resources in the amount of 813,819,348 euros, while especially small and medium-sized enterprises will mobilize 626,798,488 euros. euro (77% of the total).

The three actions of the National Recovery Plan with a total budget of EUR 328,638,000, in which investment plans have been submitted, are as follows:

1. Innovation and green transition in agricultural processing

408 investment projects have been submitted, of which 386 relate to small and medium-sized businesses.

The budget of the action “Innovation and green transition in the processing of agricultural products” is 181,521,000 euros. It provides assistance in the processing and sale of agricultural and non-agricultural products. Applications by collective schemes, producer organizations and schemes using contract farming and/or verticalization took place between 06/15/2022 and 08/15/2022. 85 applications were submitted for a total of €182,005,414, which is expected to result in a resource mobilization of €362,148,938.

2. Modernization of the primary sector

The total budget for the action “Modernization of the primary sector” is 98,111,000 euros. Applications were submitted on 09/15/2022.

Its goal is to increase the added value of agricultural products, promote innovation and protect the environment. During the campaign, 236 applications were submitted from enterprises and collective schemes with a total budget of €146,419,083, with a potential resource mobilization of €301,207,807.

3. Green agritourism

The budget of the action “Green agritourism” is 49,006,000 euros. Applications were submitted on 07/19/2022. In this context, investment projects in the field of tourism are being strengthened, which link the primary and secondary sectors with the tertiary sector, creating a new tourism product. There were 87 applications, all from SMEs (40 existing and 47 emerging). The total application budget was €74,222,302, which means a mobilization of €150,462,603.
