Sklavenitis: Extraordinary benefits and salary increase

The Hellenic Hypermarkets Sklavenitis group has decided to continue the salary increase for employees who receive a gross salary of up to 1350 euros, and at the same time it is proceeding with emergency benefits or expansion of existing ones for all staff. It is worth noting that the salary increase will come into force in November, that is, before the expiration of the operating labor contract. The latter expires on January 31, 2023, but it remains unknown if the group will continue with the new increases or if they will be included, with some additions or changes, in a new operating contract to be signed with the union.

On an annualized basis, the salary increase is 17 million euros, since it concerns the majority of the group’s employees, namely 25,800 out of 29,500 (87.45%).

In particular, from November 1, 2022, wages will increase as follows:

a. Up to 5.5% for employees with a total monthly gross salary of up to 870 euros.

b. Up to 5% for employees with total monthly gross earnings up to 930 euros.

in. 4% for employees with a total monthly gross salary of up to 1,300 euros.

d. Up to 50 euros per month for employees with a total monthly gross salary of 1301 euros to 1350 euros, but not more than 1350 euros.

Based on the above, the monthly gross earnings for new full-time employees are 870 euros from 825 euros, and after two years it will be 930 euros from 886 euros.

From Monday November 28, it increases for all employees:

The discount rate for the purchase of consumer goods in the company’s stores is from 5% to 7%, which means an additional annual cost of 2 million euros.

The annual purchase limit is from 6,000 euros to 7,000 euros, while for those working with three and large children, as well as for working parents with children with special needs, the annual limit increases from 7,000 euros to 8,000 euros. In addition, the group recently launched an emergency grant of 200 euros per employee in the form of sacraments through a prepaid shopping card.

In addition, on Monday the 33rd Sklavenitis supermarket opened its doors in the symbolic building of the former Renault at the intersection of the Athens-Lamia highway of the same name. This is a store with a total area of 16,500 sq.m. which employs more than 230 people. It has two underground parking lots and one on the roof, with a total of over 200 parking spaces, and 500 panels have been installed on the roof to generate electricity.
