At the same time, for the entire euro area, consumer prices reached a new record high of 10%. On a monthly basis, the consumer price index in Greece accelerated by 3%, and in the euro area by 1.2%.

Recall that in August, according to Eurostat, inflation in Greece was at the level of 11.2%, having marked a slight slowdown compared to July and amounted to 11.3%, and in the Eurozone it set a new historical maximum of 9.1%.

According to ELSTAT, consumer prices in our country rose by 11.4% year on year last month.

In the Baltic countries inflation continues to weigh on them as they also had the highest inflation this month (Estonia 24.2%, Lithuania 22.5%, Latvia 22.4%).

France and Malta and in September with the lowest rates of 6.2% and 7.3% respectively.

The increase in energy prices this month was also the largest in comparison with other commodity groups. In particular, they strengthened by 40.8%, which is higher than the August increase by 38.6%. Food, beverages and alcohol rose in second place (11.8% from 10.6% in August), followed by non-industrial goods (5.6% from 5.1%) and services (4.3% from 3. eight%).
