Bergenbier SA, part of the Molson Coors Beverage Company group, one of the most important companies in the beer market in Romania, launches the “Friends know how to be responsible” platform, a project that includes both social responsibility measures and the third edition of the 2021 Sustainability Report year. The report highlights Bergenbier SA’s economic and social impact on three main pillars: people, planet and responsible alcohol consumption.
“Every year we improve the footprint of the beer we produce, because we want to be the ones who build the success story of beer in our country. Friendship is at the heart of Bergenbier, which is why we foster an atmosphere of collaboration and compassion in our organization of over 600 colleagues. We are focusing on reducing carbon emissions at the Ploieste plant, for which we have 100% of waste and packaging recycled or disposed of in a controlled manner by 2021. We also respect the principles of a fair business environment and continue dialogue and cooperation with all partners involved in the beer industry.”continues Mihai Vojku, CEO of Bergenbier SA
In 2021, the company did not send any kind of household waste to landfill during the beer production process at the Ploieste plant, focusing on recycling or energy recovery. Starting this year, all electricity purchased and used at the Bergenbier plant in Ploiesti is 100% green energy.
Bergenbier SA also continued during the past year to care for more than 150,000 fir trees planted over 4 years, as well as to encourage responsible alcohol consumption through special events. In this way, Bergenbier’s social commitment continues through the “Friends know to be responsible” platform, which reiterates the company’s path to sustainable development.
“Friends know how to be responsible – this is a call for each of us to be close to the environment, people and responsible actions. In addition, responsibility and friendship are the principles that guide Bergenbier’s culture, and the platform promotes the partnership and commitment we have. From the cleaning we do with the help of our colleagues, to the planting and care of the Christmas trees, to the responsible consumer campaigns we run, it all falls under the umbrella of sustainability on our new platform.” says Alexandra Barroso, Director of Legal and Corporate Affairs.
Through “Friends know how to be responsible”, Bergenbier SA is going to launch new partnerships and campaigns in the coming period, which will continue the company’s path to sustainable development.
