Sta electronic supermarket consumers will “come back” as they offer more for Price comparison, the habit is much more intense in time accuracy, while it is easier to avoid the so-called “spontaneous” purchases. So, although based on her data Convert Group in the first half of 2022, online supermarket turnover appears to have declined, with data showing consumers buying cheaper and fewer products – largely in line with what also happens in physical stores due to accuracy – latest data show an increase in the number of products that consumers order, as well as an increase in the cost of sales. Of course, the second one is bigger, mostly because of the big ratings.

So, according to the latest data from Convert Group, from May this year to Sunday, August 21, an increase in the number of goods purchased by consumers in electronic supermarkets is recorded. In particular, in the quarter of May – July 2022, an increase in the number of pieces by 5.5% and the cost of purchases by 13.2% was recorded compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. If we include the first three weeks of August, then the increase in lots will be 5.7%, and the cost of purchases – 13.9%.

A simple price comparison, a “tool” for consumers through markups.

The recovery trend of online supermarkets was evident in May with a 1.3% increase in the number of units, then in June when the number of units purchased through this channel increased by 6.3%, in July by 10% and in the first three weeks of August at 6.6. % compared to the corresponding period in 2021.

The increase in the value of sales was, of course, due to inflation, much larger than the increase in sales. After a quarter of a significant decline in sales value (by 9.9% in February, 10.4% in March and 24.3% in April), in May the sales value increased by 7.4%, in June by 14.3%, in July by 19.5%. and in August by 18.4%.

Recall that in early August, Convert Group released data on sales of electronic supermarkets for the first half of 2022. VAT, to EUR 134 million, is reduced by 5% compared to the corresponding half of 2021.
