RAE: Increasing Compensatory Prices for Electricity Producers in September

Compared to August, the prices that electricity producers will receive in September will be significantly increased, according to the decision of the RAE, which determines the maximum compensatory prices for producers. Current for next month.

The increase in prices is mainly the result of higher international natural gas prices and, secondarily, carbon rights.

Detailed prices for next month:

  • For lignite plants EUR 214.22 per MWh (from EUR 205.38 in August)
  • For natural gas combined cycle plants €564.18 per MWh (compared to €422.39 in August).
  • For open cycle natural gas installations €797.3 per MWh (compared to €594.76 in August).

For hydroelectricity and renewable energy sources (RES), prices remain at €112 and €85 respectively.

The difference in the price of electricity, which is formed daily on the stock exchange, from the maximum prices determined monthly by the RAE, goes to the Energy Transition Fund and finances mainly the subsidization of electricity bills for households and businesses.
