At the same time, speaking on Real FM 97.7 radio and referring to the TIF package, the Minister stressed that dozens of measures are on the table, but what will be implemented will depend on the available fiscal space, as well as the priorities that the Prime Minister will establish in cooperation with the financial apparatus of the government.
The Minister of Finance stressed that Greek households are receiving additional income thanks to a reduction in unemployment, an increase in tourism income, continued investment and an increase in the minimum wage.
He highlighted the issue of paying taxes by Greek citizens, noting that they continue to cover their tax obligations without reducing contributions.
He added that this good image is being marred by inflation and problems in the energy sector, adding that the state has built lines of defense to support households and businesses.
Finally, he noted that a lot can be judged on the volume of interventions in three key financial indicators, which will be released in early September:
- The amount of growth for the second 3 months of 2022,
- the course of tax receipts for August,
- tourism receipts in the decisive 2 months of July-August.
