Complaints about prices for sun loungers and dining on ships have expanded the list that auditors are targeting.

According to the Athens Agency, inspections are intensifying throughout the market, however, complaints received these days at the call center 1520 The General Secretariat for Trade and Consumer Protection mainly concerns sun loungers and umbrellas on the beaches, as well as the prices and sufficiency of food in canteens on ships, especially on the coastlines of the Cyclades and Dodecanese.

In particular, DIMEA officials check the price lists in the ship’s canteens for pricing as well as profit margins, while checking to see if there is a sufficient supply of cheaper products such as, for example. small bottle of water.

Control is carried out in the electronic price lists of large companies, as well as in wholesale and retail trade networks and covers 80% of the market, DIMEA executives say.

It is noted that according to the order of the Ministry of Development and Investment, until December 31, 2022, it is prohibited to extract gross profit from the sale of any product or the provision of any service that is necessary for health, nutrition, life support. , movement and safety of the consumer, as well as from the sale of agricultural products and food, in particular raw materials for the production of fertilizers, animal feed, raw cereals of all kinds, flour, sunflower and vegetable oil, upon reaching gross profit, per unit, exceeds the corresponding rate of gross profit by unit until September 1, 2021.

The above layout has recently included appliances from the Change Device program, namely air conditioners, refrigerators and freezers. For these categories of goods, it is stipulated that, from the beginning to the end of the program, it is prohibited to receive gross profit from their sale that exceeds the relevant gross profit rate, per unit, until 12/31/2021.

In addition, until December 31, 2022, the application of the measure to disclose the company name of companies that violate measures to reduce the phenomena of unfair profits during the crisis has also been extended.

Fuel

In the meantime, checks continue on the fuel market, in its entire range from refineries to gas stations.

It is noted that remote control is also carried out. It is established, for example, through the Liquid Fuel Price Observatory, that high prices are fixed in some tourist destinations, a document is sent to the controlled gas station to submit data on purchases and sales of both stocks and sales to the service. Based on the data, it is determined how much the owner of the gas station buys, how much he sells and how much he earns to determine if there are any violations.
