However, it is significantly higher among women (15.9% compared to 19% in June 2021). Just as significantly high, despite the reduction, remains the unemployment rate among young people aged 15-24 (27.4% from 31.4%). On the contrary, in the age group of 25-74 years, unemployment is 11.3%, i.e. below the overall average.
Labor Minister Kostis Chazidakis points to the particular importance of reducing unemployment by 3 percentage points during the year and by 5 points compared to the unemployment received by the government of the Hellenic Republic, also stressing that this positive news is combined with confirmation from the European Commission that Greece is leaving from under the so-called post-memorandum supervision and returns in 12 years to European normality.
