The exhibition in New York is an opportunity for many manufacturers to present their new products intended for the North American market, but some of which may also enter our countries. From the Kia side, we are opening a new compact sedan with a trunk called Kia K4.

The taste of the European Kia Ceed?

Even if its sedan trunk design is unlikely to create much popularity here, this Kia K4 is actually an equally important model for the European market, as it replaces the Kia K3, also known as the Kia Forte, but also Kia Ceed on the Old Continent. Since the last generation was launched in 2018 and then updated in 2021, it goes without saying that it won’t take long for its replacement to arrive in Europe.
At 4.71 meters long, this new Kia K4 features an assertive and aggressive design that matches the brand’s latest productions, the EV9 at the forefront. On the front we find a sports shield accompanied by a LED light signature T-shaped: it repeats the L-shaped shape of the taillights, which visually expands the car and gives it a more futuristic look.
The pronounced fastback-style A-pillars stand out in terms of styling, but can be a drawback once you get behind the wheel, with less lateral rearward vision. In addition, we find muscular rear wings, as well as hidden rear door handles, which further contribute to the atypical character of its sides.

Kia K4: full of technology

On board we find the atmosphere of the latest Kia models with a horizontal instrument panel that accommodates a huge The display panel is 29.7 incheswhich serves as a dashboard screen (12.3 inches) and a touchscreen (12.3 inches) for the connected infotainment system, compatible with Android Auto and wireless Apple CarPlay, all complemented by a small 5.1-inch screen in between, which allows you to control the air conditioner.
In terms of technology, Kia announces the availability 29 advanced driver assistance systemswhich include, in particular, intelligent cruise control, a lane keeping system, an autonomous emergency braking system with pedestrian and cyclist detection, highway assistance, blind spot warning or a 360° all-round camera.
Under the hood, this American version is powered by a gasoline engine 2.0 L developing 147 horsepower and 179 Nm of torque, linked to an IVT continuously variable transmission. The second 1.6-liter turbocharged gasoline engine develops 190 horsepower and 264 Nm of torque, associated with an 8-speed automatic transmission.

Kia K4 will be presented on New York Auto Show 2024which will open its doors to the public from March 29 to April 7, 2024. It will go on sale in the United States during the second half of 2024. The European Kia Ceed should follow in 2025.
