
On the occasion of the ChangeNow Summit, which will take place from 25 to 27 March 2024 at the Grand Palais Éphémère in Paris, Renault and its subsidiary The future is neutral will present their new developments in the circular economy.
Repaired spare parts for electric cars
Launched in 2022, The future is neutral is a division of the Renault group dedicated toautomotive circular economy : today she starts a new activity repair of three parts of the automotive electric traction chainthe first in Europe in the automotive sector.
This will allow drivers of electric cars to choose between new original spare parts of the manufacturer or refurbished spare parts quality, the advantage of which is a lower price (up to -30%), while limiting the impact on resources and CO2 emissions.
Therefore, Renault will offer the following refurbished spare parts after the sale: electric motor (Zoe, Twingo E-Tech, Kangoo E-Tech and Master E-Tech),power electronics (Zoe and Kangoo E-Tech) and traction battery (Zoe, Twingo E-Tech and Megane E-Tech). From 2024, The Future is Neutral will have the capacity to produce more than 3,000 refurbished parts for electric vehicles at its Flints plant located in Yvelines (78) in France.
Renault: a pioneer of the circular economy
Renault has invested heavily in the circular economy in recent years and now has an entire industrial and collaborative ecosystem of circular economy solutions based around four poles additional: “Retrofit” aims to extend the life of vehicles by restoring used vehicles (Renew Factory), repairing severely damaged vehicles (BodyWork Factory) and upgrading light SUVs.
Pole “Re-energy” aims to generate, store and manage green energy through the Battery Repair Expert Center in Flints, the Battery Repair Workshop (30 battery diagnostic and repair centers worldwide) and the recycling of batteries by Mobilize for energy storage.
Pole “Redo” aims to repair and recycle parts, through parts renewal and repair events run by The Future is Neutral in Flints (78).
Finally, the pole “Restart” aims to support change and structure the group’s circular economy and sustainable mobility sector by training employees at the Flins Refactory, the circular mobility industry campus run by ReKnow University, and the Open Innovation Hub of The Future is Neutral (Flins), which supports start-ups around circular economy.
