Volkswagen: big announcement! Auto Plus news in your smartphone

Like all manufacturers, Volkswagen is massively electrifying its range over the coming years to meet European Union requirements.

Very good results for Volkswagen

The manufacturer already has a wide range of electric cars that will be from ID.3 to ID.7 through identifiers. Buzz and others ID.4 and ID.5. An excellent catalog that allows it to be placed on the 3rd step of the pedestal of manufacturers selling the most zero-emission cars in the world. And that seems to be for the best for the German firm, which just released its 2023 results. If her situation is a bit alarming, it’s actually a lot less serious than we might have thought. Really, a company based in Wolfsburg recorded net income of €17.9 billion (+13.1%) during fiscal 2023, and operating profit before exceptional items of €22.6 billion, in line with 2022 figures. Turnover also increased by 15%, reaching 322.3 billion euros. However, net income does not necessarily reflect reality, but remains a good indicator.

More than 30 Volkswagen models on the way

At the annual press conference, CEO Oliver Blume said: “In 2023, we have laid a solid foundation. We are aware of the current challenges and are steadily solving them in order to use the enormous potential of the Volkswagen concern. With inspiring products, an aligned strategy and a clear focus on execution, we look forward to fiscal 2024 with confidence.” But that’s not all, as Europe’s leading carmaker expects to see an increase in orders for its cars in Western Europe thanks to the launch of 30 new models, including electric cars, in the coming months. The manufacturer has just introduced its ID.7 Tourer and should still offer new models in its range a little later. Overall, the share of battery electric vehicles (BEVs) reached a new record of 8.3% for the year. In 2023, the German giant delivered 771,100 BEVs, i.e. an increase of 35%. compared to 2022, thanks to growth in all regions.

Volkswagen, which seems to have recovered from the crisis, is doing well!
