
15,000 Tesla superchargers are available to Ford customers
North American customers of the Ford F-150 Lightning and Mustang Mach-E are now the first users (excluding Tesla) to have access to Tesla superchargers in the USA and Canada. Majority 15,000 superchargers Tesla is actually available for twice as much Ford BlueOval charging networkproviding customers with more reliable fast charging solutions.
“Starting today, Ford EV customers will have access to more than 15,000 Tesla Superchargers in the United States and Canada, more than doubling the number of fast charging options on the BlueOval charging network. The NACS connector will soon become standard
To be able to charge their EV at one of Tesla’s chargers, Ford customers must use fast charging adapter : good news for them free for all clients of the BlueOval network until June 30, 2024. After that date, the adapter will be sold in the American brand’s accessories catalog at a price of $230 (or approximately €210).
With the FordPass or Charge Assist program, Ford BlueOval network users can identify themselves directly at Tesla chargers using this system. Plug & Charge : they only need to connect to the terminal and the charging session will start automatically. The mobile application also allows you to track the charging of your car, as well as find charging stations in the BlueOval network.
In the future, Ford’s next generation of 100% electric vehicles will be standard NACS connector (North American charging standard) from Tesla, eliminating the need for a charging adapter.
With the addition of Tesla Superchargers, Ford BlueOval charging network now has more than 126,000 charging pointsincluding over 28,000 fast chargers.
