A staggering amount
Contrary to what some may think, Elon Musk is no longer the richest man in the world. However, he ranks second with a fortune of $198.9 billion, just behind LVMH founder Bernard Arnault. The latter’s net worth now stands at $198.9 billion, while Musk’s net worth has shrunk significantly over the past year from 229 billion dollarss to the current indicator. Despite this decline, Elon Musk remains a major player in the business world. His wealth is closely tied to the performance of his iconic companies, including Tesla and SpaceX. But how rich is Musk? Here is the beginning of the answer. Tesla’s 2023 Form 10-K filing with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) shows that the company recorded $17.66 billion in revenue from two operating segments: automotive and energy generation/storage.

Great wealth
Musk’s ownership interest in Tesla is 20.5%, according to a Form 13G filed on February 14, 2024. Tesla’s profit for 2023 was 17.66 billion dollars. Thus, Musk’s share in Tesla’s profits is 20.5% of $17.66 billion, which is equivalent to $3.6203 billion. On the other hand, the data for other companies such as SpaceX or The Boring Company is not exactly known. But overall, and for all companies combined, Musk’s total revenue for 2023 is $3.6203 billion. We can then conclude that the businessman earns approximately $114.80 per second based on the information provided. That’s $6,887 per minute, $413,220 per hour, $9,917,280 per day and $69,420,960 per week. For comparison, Bernard Arnault weighs 219.1 billion dollars against 192.5 billion Jeff Bezos and 166.6 billion Mark Zuckerberg, the founder of Facebook.
