
Lancia presents its new city car
After several teasers and the release of the first images of the model, Lancia has officially presented its new city car: the third generation Lancia Ypsilonwith the limited edition Cassina, developed in collaboration with the Italian designer furniture firm.
The new Ypsilon is based on CMP platform (Compact Modular Platform) of the latest Peugeot 208: to distinguish itself from its French relative, the Italian firm added its new stylistic direction, which we recognize by its signature “Calice” headlights, its offset headlights on the front bumper, its rear door handles, hidden in the continuation of the window, or its round lights at the rear, paying homage to the legendary Lancia Stratos, and equipped with a Y-shaped light signature made up of LED segments.
Inside, the vibe is neat and Italian, with black and blue upholstery combining leather and velvet. In front of the driver is a Lancia signature three-spoke steering wheel, a small round “table” at the bottom, upholstered in leather with the Cassina logo and an inductive smartphone charger, 10.25 inches in front of the driver. as well as a large customizable 10.25-inch touchscreen located in the center of the dashboard and integrated The SALA infotainment system is connected (“Sound Air Light Magnification”).
Lancia Ypsilon Cassina: special series limited to 1,906 units
Under the hood of the new Lancia Ypsilon Cassina we find 100% electric motor with a capacity of 156 horsepower and 260 Nm of torque combined with a Battery 51 kWh which offers a range up to 403 km, according to the WLTP cycle. It takes about 24 minutes to charge the battery from 20% to 80%. The new electric Ypsilon also joins the Free2move Charge ecosystem of the Stellantis group, which allows its customers to take advantage of a wide public network of fast charging stations as well as home charging solutions.
A thermal version will also be offered in the rest of the range with a 48 V micro-hybrid three-cylinder unit borrowed from the Peugeot 208, producing 100 horsepower and mated to an electrified dual-clutch automatic transmission.
Special launch series Lancia Ypsilon Cassina will be produced in limited edition of 1906 copies numbered according to the year the brand was launched. It will only be offered in a 100% electric version and will be sold at a price 39,999 euros in Italy. However, Lancia has yet to confirm its price in France, but for comparison, the Peugeot e-208 GT 156 hp. costs from 38,850 euros. Among its competitors we find the Mini Cooper E, which is sold for 38,150 euros.
