The most desirable collector cars of 2023

On the occasion of Rétromobile 2024 Classic Expert, the BCA Expertise brand dedicated to collector cars, publishes its 8 Barometer of collector cars : This barometer was created based on classic vehicle valuations conducted by Classic Expert, as well as other data sources such as classifieds and auctions.
Available in digital and paper versions, the Collector Vehicle Barometer 2024 highlights popular categories for the first time, coupes and convertibles, while not forgetting the younger cars that are increasingly in demand among vintage car enthusiasts.
“In recent years, the market has tended to flatten out a bit to refocus on the true enthusiast market. While vehicles from the 1970s, and particularly popular young cars like the Peugeot 205, are on the rise, there is a certain lack of interest in pre-war cars. Therefore, we can hope that some models will become more affordable again.”Jérôme Veytens, Classic Expert’s development manager, clarifies in this regard.

Collector cars: the most popular models

THE Top 10 most sought-after collector cars in 2023 brings together the most desirable models in the world of collector cars. In the first position we find Peugeot 205, which takes this place for the first time and significantly knocks off its competitors, followed by the Citroën 2CV, then the Renault 4L. This year’s podium is occupied by three popular French youngsters.
In the rest of the ranking, we find three Germans: the Porsche 911, the BMW 3 Series, and the Mercedes SL. They are followed by the Ford Mustang, Austin Mini, Citroën Méhari and, of course, the iconic Fiat 500.
The Collector Car Barometer 2024 also ranked by category. From Popular carswe find Citroën 2CV, Renault 4L, Austin Mini, Citroën Méhari as well as Fiat 500. Among Coupes and convertiblesPorsche 911, Mercedes SL, Ford Mustang, Chevrolet Corvette, as well as Porsche 356. Finally, TOP-3 Youngtimers unites Peugeot 205, BMW 3 series and Volkswagen Golf.

Classic Expert is present this year at Retromobile showto meet vintage car enthusiasts and present their barometer by February 4, 2023. You will find them at the joint stand (1H079) with the French Federation of Vintage Cars (FFVE).
