New electric city SUV vs Peugeot e-2008?

To attract the European market, BYD already offers several SUVs in its lineup: the small urban crossover BYD Atto 3, the large family SUV BYD Tang, not forgetting the new compact SUV BYD Seal U, whose release is imminent. This range will soon be supplemented with arrivals BYD Atto 2AND City SUV recently announced by the brand with teaser photos, still half in the dark.
BYD Atto 2 is a European name BYD Yuan Up : this will complete the “Yuan” line consisting of Yuan Pro and Yuan Plus, the latter also called Atto 3 in Europe.
Thanks to the first teaser photos posted by BYD on Chinese social network Weibo, as well as images leaked via MIIT, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, which is responsible for vehicle approvals, we can already get a glimpse of the rather massive vehicle. styling of the upcoming BYD Atto 2, which is already positioning itself as a competitor to the Peugeot e-2008 and other electric Jeep Avenger.

BYD Atto 2: first technical information

According to technical information released by China’s MIIT website, the model measures over 4.31 meters in length, 1.83 meters in width and 1.67 meters in height, putting it halfway between city and compact SUVs.
Atto 2 is based on architecture e-Platform 3.0, designed for electric vehicles and also equipped with the BYD Dolphin. There should be two engines under the hood in the program: one with 95 horses (70 kW), and the second office 177 horsepower (130 kW), the maximum speed is electronically limited to 160 km/h. The compact battery that will be equipped with this new SUV should be the expensive “Blade” battery for the BYD brand with a capacity of 32 and 45 kWhoffering approx Autonomy from 300 to 400 kmaccording to the Chinese CLTC cycle.
