
In 2023, 8,000 copies were sold in France. Kona is Hyundai’s second most popular modelbehind the formidable Tucson, whose 18,594 units sold put it in 26th placed place in the general classification. Not bad at all for a brand that was very little represented here a few years ago. Santa Fe, Tucson, Kona, Bayonne, Nexo: Korean has proven itself with its unchanged line of SUVs – now the leading category in the market – with very different sizes, positioning and philosophies.
They also attracted attention with a variety of engines : between them, they are offered in gasoline, diesel (including micro-hybrid), hybrid, battery hybrid, electric and even hydrogen! An excellent choice for the European customer, which was not wrong, given the excellent figures recorded by Hyundai: Last year, 534,170 cars were sold on the Old Continenthaving increased by 3.1%!
Kona, a versatile SUV
Among these SUVs Kona managed to do well, as well as for its multi-energy range. Also offered as an option 100% electric, which even its big brother and best seller Tucson does not offer. Its first generation left the stage at the beginning of 2023 to give way to an all-new version: in the last full year (2022), the first generation Kona still recorded a 15% increase in sales!
Kona “2” gained popularity, style and technologybut remained true to its versatility, because despite the fact that the diesel has been removed, it is there always available on gasoline (1.0 l 100 hp or 1.6 l 198 hp), in the hybrid (battery-powered, 141 hp), as well asin electric (156 hp or 217 hp). The N Line version is out!
At Hyundai, The N line denotes the “sporty chic” finish; it takes aesthetic cues from the sporty N models (such as the i20 N, i30 N and IONIQ 5N), without claiming any claims and sports results. So the new Kona N Line shows more black body parts (shield, roof, mirrors), Wheels 19 inchesand N Line badges especially on the wings and radiator grille.
On board, the Sport N Line seats are trimmed in Alcantara with red stitching, the instrument panel has special red inserts, and the steering wheel, shift knob, pedals and roof trim are specific to the rest of the Kona lineup. A few N Line badges adorn the whole thing. This version of the N Line will first be introduced on the Kona Electric and then be offered on the Kona Hybrid. As such, it joins the Tucson N Line, i10, i20 and i30 N Line, among others…
