Abarth continues its path to electrification: after the launch of the new Abarth 500e, the manufacturer Scorpion is already working on the next sports car in its line in cooperation with the teams Stellantis Autosport.

Unsurprisingly, it will be derived from the new Fiat 600e, a small city SUV, and will be called Abarth 600e : here are the first photos of the future model, still in camouflage.

Abarth 600e: the most powerful model of the brand

The future Abarth 600e will simply be a production model the most powerful in Abarth historywith her 100% electric motor with a capacity of 240 horsepowerdeveloped in collaboration with Stellantis Motorsport: in fact, the Fiat 600e is the first model of the Italian manufacturer based on the eCMP platform of the PSA group, which later became Stellantis, shared with the Peugeot e-2008, DS 3. E-Tense and other Electric Jeep Avenger.

The Abarth 600e will naturally follow this path and will use Stellantis Motorsport’s technologies, which are the result of its experience in motor racing and in particular in Formula E, with the platform renamed for the occasion. And even if it’s still hard to make out elements of its sporty design under that important camouflage that notably hides its body kit, rims and spoiler, the Italian manufacturer has revealed the first information about the upcoming Abarth 600e.

An innovative and efficient sports car

Abarth with the signature 600e will be equipped with a 100% electric motor and a optimized chassis : it will have a high-performance suspension with special settings optimized for handling, driving dynamics and stability at high speeds, especially when cornering, to optimize trajectories. Mechanics will also be equipped with a high friction differential new, designed specifically for work with an electric motor.

The new Abarth 600e will also have a improved braking system, thanks to larger brake discs and wider disc surfaces: this will provide more power and stability during braking, better heat dissipation, as well as better resistance to fading. The tires were developed taking into account the experience of DS Automobiles and Maserati acquired in Formula Eand provide excellent grip, optimizing rolling noise and electrical autonomy: for this, they have been equipped with a softer protector on the outside and in the center, as well as a polyurethane insert that provides a 20% reduction in the level of perceived noise.

There are no photos of the interior at the moment: Abarth is clarifying what it will include, however high quality seats “Great comfort with racing ergonomics”, which allows you to combine comfort and support in any driving situation. In particular, we find four foams of different densities that allow us to optimize the support of each part of the body, as well as an enveloping shape to improve lateral support during turns.

The new Abarth 600e will be revealed in the coming months, and the Italian firm will reveal more details about it ahead of its launch, scheduled for the end of 2024.
