The most economical diesel sedan

This Audi A3 is proof that diesel does have some advantages. Indeed, it is not only the most economical sedan in the diesel engine category, but also the most economical of all engines combined. Audi A3 in the 2.0 TDI S tronic version has an average consumption of 5 l/100 km and even 4.5 l/100 km on the highway! An ideal sedan for serious drivers, if you put aside its price.

Behind the Audi A3 we find the Renault Megane 1.5 Blue dCi EDC (115) and two Volkswagen Golf 2.0 TDO DSG7 versions of 115 and 150 hp, with an average consumption of 5.2 l/100 km.

The most economical gasoline sedan

Citroën C4 1.2 PureTech (100 hp)

Citroën C4, equipped with a 1.2 PureTech engine with a capacity of 100 hp, is the most economical compact sedan on the market in the category of gasoline engines. On average, it consumes only 6 l/100 km. On the other hand, she is a bit gluttonous in the city. But with a 50-liter tank, its range can exceed 800 km!

A little behind we find two compact sedans of German origin. You have an Opel Astra 1.2 Turbo (130 hp) and a Volkswagen Golf 1.5 eTSI DSG7 (150 hp), which have an average consumption of 6.1 l/100 km.

The most economical hybrid sedan

Honda Civic Hybrid (184 hp)

In the category of compact hybrid sedans, the Honda Civic stands out with an average consumption of 5.8 l/100 km. It is the only one in the category that shows consumption below 6 l/100 km. Also note that in the city it will spend 0.5 l/100 km less.

Then you will find two versions of the Toyota Corolla. Corolla 1.8 Hybrid (140 hp) and Corolla 2.0 Hybrid (196 hp), which have an average consumption of 6 l/100 km. It is logical that we find three simple hybrids in the first positions, since they are not deprived of the considerable weight of the batteries of plug-in hybrids.
