Things are going well at Alpine… But not the way we imagine: engineers are preparing a battery-powered SUV for uswhich is scheduled for release in 2025. This is explained by what the French manufacturer, which is part of the Renault group, sees an all-electric future. Waiting for this world of silence, the Berlinetta – as we call the small sports coupe – remains the only model in the assortment. There are now three versions: A110 ” (equivalent to the old Pure, with a 1.8 252 hp turbo engine, €59,700), ” A110GT » (a typical Grand Tourer with an engine extended to 300 hp, €69,650) and a sports car « A110S ” (300 hp, €71,750), which has a reinforced chassis and can now be equipped with semi-slicks and an “aero kit” with a rear wing and a carbon front blade. But that’s not all…
A110 R: the radical Berlinette
After rethinking its range around these three versions, Alpine has expanded it by one a fourth variant called R (as in Radical). It uses the 2.0-liter 300-horsepower turbo engine from the S and GT, but special care is taken with its weight and aerodynamics. She thus resorts to many carbon fiber elements : the front hood, the roof, the spoiler… even the rims are made of lightweight material, as is the panel that replaces the rear window.
There are also carbon fiber bucket seats on board, surrounded by 6-point harnesses that give it a very racing feel. Result: 32 kilograms were saved, and the total weight is reduced to only 1082 kg. All this obviously provides additional performance. Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes just 3.9 seconds, 0.3 seconds less than the Alpine A110 GT, and the top speed increases by 10 km/h to 285 km/h! Its price? 112,000 euros minimum.
20,000 units produced in Dieppe!
In addition to these four “corrected” versions, Alpine has released its little A110 in numerous limited editions. In order to continue to grow the brand despite its unique model and to achieve good profitability with these special editions. This is how the A110 appeared Jean Redelethere Tour of Corsica 75there San Remo 73there Le MansL’Enstone editionas well as special series Fernando Alonso !
With all these options and limited editions, Alpine has just reached a symbolic milestone of 20,000 A110s produced at its historic Dieppe plant! It thus surpasses the original A110’s score (7176 copies) combined with the A310’s score (11616 copies). It is about model a A110 R in a limited series THE Man, exactly There is no doubt that given the popularity of the model and the arrival in 2025 of the new electric A110, 2024 will be a very good year for the model.
