Xiaomi: two new cars in development
According to information published by Chinese site AutoPix, which cites an engineer working in Xiaomi’s automotive division, the Xiaomi SU7 is codenamed. “Modena”, inspired by the Italian city of Modena, famous for its race track and the birthplace of Ferrari. The SU7 project is in the pre-production phase, with 300 pre-production units scheduled to be produced this month, ensuring quality and ironing out the latest issues before series production is scheduled for spring 2024.
After the launch of the SU7 sedan, Xiaomi will accelerate the launch of new cars in its range at a rate of one new every year. After SU7 “Modena” there is one more 100% electric modelknown today under the code name “Le Mans”, will be presented. His project is called the French city that hosts the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans endurance race, and at the moment we don’t know much about the model, nor whether it’s a sedan, compact or SUV.
The first hybrid model is being prepared
After Modena and Le Mans, Xiaomi is also preparing a the third model whose project is christened, again according to this source, “Kunlun” : is a giant mountain range that crosses China. Unlike the first two models planned by Xiaomi, this third car will be a hybrid carbut no other information is currently filtered.
As with the Le Mans project, we will still have to wait a few years before we see the Kunlun, Xiaomi’s first hybrid car, on the market. The release of the Xiaomi SU7, the very first model from the Chinese firm, is scheduled for sometime in 2024.
