The factory in Zwickau, in the German region of Saxony, quickly became the second largest after Wolfsburgin particular thanks to the production of models of the Volkswagen ID family.
However, due to the lack of electric motors, the German group has announced that it will suspend production of certain vehicles for approximately three weeks.
Some Audis and Volkswagens were affected
“The production of electric vehicles at the Volkswagen Group Components plant in Kassel is currently only possible to a limited extent”– a spokesman for the group told Reuters.
According to Volkswagen, this temporary suspension will affect the Audi Q4 e-tron, Audi Q4 Sportback e-tron, Volkswagen ID.4 and ID.5 models. Volkswagen ID.3 and Cupra Born are not affected by this problem.
