Power bends
This is how the government, which categorically refuses to reduce taxation, appealed to the distributors. The TotalEnergies company decided to play the game and limit the prices of gasoline and diesel fuel 1.99 euros per liter at all its stations. But this offer could end while the brand threatened the state with its cancellation. The latter’s desire to extend the tax on oil refiners for a year is under question. Which did not sit well with TotalEnergies, who decided to take matters into their own hands to fight the measure. And it worked.
Fail
If this tax was initially approved by the presidential majority, then the latter went the other way decides to put an end to it. Jean-René Cazeneuve, rapporteur general for the budget, stated that “ the most important thing is that Total fulfills its obligations”, that is, he continues to limit his prices. So you should be able to continue to find fuel for less than two euros per liter at all stations in the group until at least the end of the year, or even a bit more, depending on the rumours…
