The situation between the government and fuel distributors is becoming increasingly tense. True, the latter continues to ask companies to sell their gasoline and diesel cheaper, and he himself does not want to do anything to help motorists. He is only going to introduce a small compensation of 100 euros, which will be reserved only for certain households and which will not be enough to limit the rise in prices. Suffice it to say that there is tension in the country, although the situation does not seem to improve.

Small voltages

If customers pay 60% tax on the price of a liter of fuel, oil companies also suffer from very high taxes. However, the government wants to increase the latter even more, which does not suit the general director very much TotalEnergies. The latter recently spoke out and threatened the government to lift the €1.99 cap on all its fuel unless it reverses its decision. A threat that in the end seems to have had the desired effect. Rest assured, you won’t be paying more than two euros per liter of fuel in the coming weeks.

Calm down the game

Indeed, Economy Minister Bruno Le Maire tried to calm things down a bit at Sud Radio’s microphone. The latter actually explains that ” I trust Total to support this operation which is exemplary for me. We are fighting inflation when we all together make the right decisions about lowering prices: the state, business, distributors. Together we are effective“. He also reminds that ” the recycling tax is not included in the initial government budget. There is a parliamentary discussion (…) This is not in the initial draft of the government“.
