Nissan’s X-Trail has a relatively old history that began in 2000 and launch of the very first generation. At the time, Nissan was looking for a successor to its large 4X4 Terrano II launched in 1993. To put all the odds on your side, it replaces it with a large, more comfort-oriented SUV than to clean crossing: X-Trail. Since then it has been a great success as it has been available in the three additional generations in 2007, 2013 and 2021, and paving the way in 2008 for a younger sibling: the Qashqai, whose success is well established. The fourth and current generation X-Trail is not a simple version of the XL Qashqai. It has its own lookwhich really gives off something more status and more mature…
Successful promotion to the high market
The rear profile is much more vertical than the previous X-Trail. For designers, it is a way of saying that there is space inside for the whole family and luggage. On board, it is actually quite spacious, both in the front and in the back. With such an interior, Nissan shows a leap forward in terms of aesthetics. It is very beautifully done, quite harmonious, and things remain above all ergonomic. Everything is on the screen, it’s not here! The package is worthy of the basic versionand the higher you go up the trim level, the more you’re in a high-tech world with a 12.3-inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster and every conceivable assistance system.
100,000 X-Trails sold in France
It is available in France with two engines. First a hybrid called e-Power and inaugurated by Kaskai. Here, the 1.5-liter gasoline engine has no connection with the wheels. It actually serves as a generator that powers a small 2.1 kWh battery that in turn powers the electric motor. This system produces 204 hp. Following the e-Power e-Force 4WD version, which adds a second electric motor on the rear axle to all of this. A total of 213 hp is declared and 500 Nm, so the choice is big! This promotion to the high market and this technical innovation allowed the X-Trail to continue its good dynamics: the symbolic milestone of 100,000 copies sold in France since 2000 has just been passed ! A great award, although Nissan is not a manufacturer in the best form in the French market…
