If you’re a regular reader of Auto Plus, you’ve no doubt seen articles about recall campaigns. But what is it about? In fact, these operations are implemented by manufacturers to eliminate a problem that is common to many models on the market, and which is caused by a design problem. In this case, there is support at the expense of the brand and motorists don’t have to pay a single cent to get their car repaired. And it can affect all brands, not just the less reliable or inferior ones.

A big recall at Mercedes
This applies, for example, to Ferrari or Lamborghini, as well as Mercedes, etc. The firm has just launched a large-scale recall campaign for two examples of its range, namely the GLE and GLS. Two machines that, fortunately, are not among the best sellers in the catalog, but more than 2057 copies still suffering from this campaign in France. The latter were produced between January 2019 and October 2020 and are identified under the numbers 8392005 and 8391109. But then what is the problem with two large SUVs?
Problem with the air conditioner
In fact, the manufacturer has discovered that the A/C drain hoses can be installed incorrectly in some cases. So, liquid may leak out and come into contact with electronic components, which may cause, for example, a short circuit or even a fire in some cases. Fortunately, the repair operation is quite quick, and the cars should not be immobilized for more than half an hour, of course, at the expense of the brand.
