And this creates certain problems, causing in particular the disappearance of small cars which are no longer profitable enough for brands that have to spend a lot on their electrification. This is how most of them reluctantly decide to do without it.

This is not the case with Renault, who absolutely want to keep these cars in their range and who obviously want to make it known. His boss, Luca de Meo, does not save and pushes small talk against the European Union. When asked by our colleagues from BFM TV, the latter really explains that “in Europe we also need to go back to small cars: a small electric car has less impact than a five-meter sedan, that’s obvious. But the rules don’t allow you to do business, and for me, my priority is business“. This has the advantage of being very clear.
Renault still believes in it
The businessman then explains that ” on these small cars, there is not too much business. All European regulations penalize only manufacturers with a tradition in small cars“. However, he has no intention of immediately stopping these machines while the firm prepares the appearance of the future Renault 5 as well as the electric R4 a little later. Other models are also planned, including the upcoming Kardian, which should be made official soon.
