Economic turmoil and supply issues recently forced Honda to suspend production and sales of its iconic Civic model. Launched in July 2022. this model suffered from the effects of worldwide parts shortages and logistics issues.
In connection with this supply crisis, Honda was forced to deploy a strategy to resume production of the Civic. The search for new sources of supply, more stable, but also more expensive, was started. This was intended to ensure a more reliable flow of parts, avoiding future failures.
Sharp increase in the price of facades
Thus, the Honda Civic returned to the brand’s catalog with a more complete range. It is offered with a 184-horsepower hybrid engine, dubbed e:HEV, and is available in three trim levels: Executive, Sport and Advance.
However, the supply crisis has affected prices. Last July, the Civic was priced accordingly €32,400, €33,700 and €37,100. However, these numbers are no longer comparable to the modern reality. Prices have increased significantly, starting amounts are set at the level 39,220 euros for the Executive model, 40,520 euros for the Sport version and 43,920 euros for the Advance. A variation that widens the gap to €6,820 compared to previous rates.
More “digestible” rental offers
Recognizing the impact of these price adjustments, Honda is looking to attract customers with more attractive financing offers. For example, Civic Executive is now offered at a monthly rate 399 eurostogether with the first lease of 5,960 euros for 36 months and a mileage of 30,000 km.
Honda plans to sell 2,000 units of the Civic in France this year, and that figure should rise to 2,500 units next year.
