3 years after the announcement of the project, Fifteen Eleven Design presents its final version restomod based on the Porsche 914. And the least we can say is that the result is absolutely incredible! An English specialist has managed to make a small German coupe/convertible from the 70s incredibly desirable. To achieve this result, Fifteen Eleven Design recreated, modified, shortened and widened the body of the 914, as well as the chassis of the previous generation Cayman, to bring them together.
Flat 6 atmospheric 400 hp
Beneath this, the bodywork is now made of carbon fiber In fact, in this way, there is a reinforced architecture of the previous generation Porsche Cayman S. A car whose Fifteen Eleven Design also decided to keep (and improve) the mechanics! Small 4- or 6-cylinder flat engine with a maximum power of 150 hp. from the original 914 gave way to a large naturally aspirated 3.8-liter 6-cylinder engine! The engine, which specialists also increased to 400 hp! This unit is associated with a 6-speed manual gearbox, as in modern German coupes.
Improved lighting and braking
Fifteen Eleven Design did not limit itself to reworking the body and mechanics of the 914. The English specialist also brought the rest of its components into the 21st century, starting with the lighting. The latter now works thanks to LED technology. AND new 18-inch neo-retro wheels wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport tires now hide 4-piston calipers and a Brembo signature brake system. It should have easily stopped all that extra cavalry.
Over 400,000 euros!
This Fifteen Eleven Design tested Porsche 914 is available in both left and right hand drive. As for its interior, it has received at least as much love as its body and mechanics. Considering the astronomical amount of work required to create a single example, this modified 914 by Fifteen Eleven Design doesn’t come cheap. The English specialist is indeed asking a minimum of £350,000, or over €400,000 at the current exchange rate, to afford one of these little gems! So, which would you choose, this 914 or the several 718 Spyder RS that we have on display from €159,052?
