The fourth model in the Lamborghini lineup will be electric. Now it’s official with this concept car unveiled well ahead of the production version, that a bull company called “Lanzador”. This GT 2+2 concept presented during Monterey Car Week is not a surprise in the sense that the brand already announced it last year.
About five years before the final version is expected in 2028 (three years later than Ferrari, which will introduce its first electric model in 2025), the Lamborghini Lanzador has been unveiled, announcing many new features that will arrive on serial model. . Lamborghini basically did the same with the Urus and its concept that was introduced in 2012 for the final version launched in 2018.
As usual, the technical details are not disclosed, especially since they are still under development by the engineers of Sant’Agata, where the Lanzador will be produced. But the presented concept already gives some clues.
A melting pot of several Lamborghinis?
Presented in the “Azzurro Abissale” color developed especially for Pebble Beach, the Lamborghini Lanzador immediately betrays its DNA, even if its proportions and the segment it fits into are still new. This slightly raised concept car is a kind of intelligent melting pot between the Sesto Elemento, Murcielago and Countach LPI 800-4, all in a car that wants to be a little more family friendly.
The front hood, very short and sloping, hides the body, while the rear trunk, visible thanks to the tailgate, promises to accommodate mountain bikes, skis or even paragliding equipment. Lovers of active recreation will undoubtedly be delighted.
The ALA (Aerodinamica Lamborghini Attiva) system, which was already presented on the Huracan Performante and Aventador SVJ, is enriched with new mobile devices at the front, with a radiator grille and active splitters, whose task is to guarantee the cooling of the brakes and electromechanical components, but also better aerodynamic load depending on driving modes.
A cockpit worthy of a fighter jet
The Lanzador cabin is designed to accommodate four people in a 2+2 configuration that makes the most of the space offered by the electric architecture. The cockpit was designed in the shape of the letter Y with fighter controls. All this, obviously, has its own small effect, it remains to be seen that the production model will retain all these eccentricities.
The interiors of future Lamborghinis are assembled from high-quality environmentally friendly or recycled materials and are all made in Italy. Even the seat foam is made from recycled fibers printed using 3D printing, and some carbon components are made from recycled carbon.
Crazy power
As mentioned above, Lamborghini has not released any technical information regarding the transmission. All we know is that the Lanzador will be built on the new SSP modular electric platform, a platform coming in 2025 from Audi.
Lanzador will be equipped with two electric motors, one per axle, and the kit will develop more than 1300 hp. Battery capacity and range are currently undisclosed.
Lamborghini will include a new version of the vehicle dynamics control system, namely Lamborghini Dinamica Veicolo Integrata (LDVI). Thanks to sensors and radars, the Italian brand promises to make driving even more precise and exciting: the more sensors and, therefore, the data entering the control system, the more detailed the algorithm that provides fast and accurate feedback. driving style
