Porsche will be in high spirits at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, where the brand will be celebrating its 75th anniversarythousand anniversary of the presentation of his first car: Porsche 356 Roadster #1. A special birthday for a special model.

To celebrate its 3/4 century, here’s the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster, a unique roofless model that echoes the Vision 357 concept car unveiled earlier in the year. to pay tribute to the model that marked the birth of the Porsche epic.

An electric concept car to prepare for the future

The differences from the previous concept car are obvious, as we immediately notice that the Speedster, logically, has no roof. The livery is also new, and a cover of sorts covers the passenger seat when the driver is alone. However, compared to the concept presented at the beginning of the year, there is a major difference: the engine.

The Vision 357 Coupé concept was based on the 718 Cayman GT4 RS, while this model is based on the 718 GT4 e-Performance, an all-electric model.

The chassis is derived from the 718 GT4 Clubsport and combined with the electric motors of the Mission R. Therefore, this concept develops more than 1000 hp with the most extreme driving mode, at that Acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes less than three seconds.

Extraordinary design

Sitting on large 20-inch one-piece magnesium wheels, the Porsche Vision 357 Speedster seems devoid of front and rear lights, “sunk” in the body and is noticeable especially at night. There are also no mirrors, replaced by high-definition cameras

Inside we find a lowered seat with a carbon fiber body reinforced with plastic materials. The cabin is deliberately minimalist and includes a carbon fiber instrument panel with a clear instrument panel.

Following its debut at Goodwood, the Vision 357 Speedster will cross the Atlantic to land at Laguna Seca during the Rennsport Reunion in September.
