Lexus has just unveiled a replacement for the RC F for future races in the GT3 championship. And good news, the road-approved version will.
Indeed, this new sport will have the right to its road version, but it will not be the famous “supercar” from Lexus, which we are promised so much. If this model appears in competition in 2026, there is a good chance that the Japanese firm will present its “production” version in the same year.
A smart melting pot
From an aesthetic point of view, there will obviously be similarities between the racing version and the dedicated road version. Images from the registered patents have already leaked, and even if the car still looks particularly “extreme”, there is at least an 80% chance that it will be inspired by her.
Up front we find the new Lexus light signature that we spotted on the new LBX SUV unveiled a few weeks ago. The rear is reminiscent of certain concept cars from DS, and the side exhausts echo motorsport and old American muscle cars.
With V6 or V8?
As for the mechanical part, the upcoming sports car from Lexus should be very different from the upcoming electric supercar announced by the Electrified Sport Concept. So this model should be 100% thermal, even if there is some doubt about the engine in question.
Several rumors point to a refined and improved version of the GR Supra’s straight-six engine, possibly the one already used in the 510 hp BMW M3 Competition. Other rumors point to the possibility of seeing a twin-turbo V6 or even a twin-turbo V8 under the hood.
