Lucid is expanding its range in Europe. The American brand announces new versions of its sedan for the Old Continent. Customers from Germany, Holland, Switzerland and Norway can now order Pure AWD and Touring versions. The first deliveries are expected before the end of the year.
At the moment France is not affected, even though there is a joint site with Canada where you can order a car… but only in Canada. At the moment, the American firm has not announced the date of arrival in France.
Still among the best electric sedans
The two new versions sit below the high-end Dream Edition. Lucid Air Pure AWD can be ordered in Germany 109,000 euroswhile Touring claims 129,000 euros.
The first model develops power 480 hpwhile the second states 620 hp. Both are equipped with a 92 kWh battery, and the claimed range is 725 km according to the WLTP cycle.
Compared to the Dream Edition and its 113kWh battery that allows for over 1,000km of range on a single charge, these new versions can be charged up to 250 kW direct current, instead of 300 kW for the upper range.
Gradual arrival in Europe
But there are also comfort “advantages” of using the “cheaper” Lucid Air: the smaller battery allows the Pure AWD and Touring versions to place the rear seats 8 cm lower, which improves living comfort.
The Lucid Air range will be expanded in 2024 with the launch of the ‘basic’ Pure with a single electric motor mounted on the rear axle. However, at the moment, the American brand does not reveal details about the prices and equipment of these models.
