It can cost the price of a small house on the Cote d’Azur and be far from the traditional Ferrari codes, Purosangue nevertheless, it is a huge success for the Italian House. So much so that just a few weeks after hitting the market the brand was forced to close its order books. The manufacturer really decided on his own to limit production so that it does not exceed 20% of the total production of Prancing Horse models. This is approximately 2,500 to 3,000 units per year.
Chicken with golden eggs
Thus Purosangue is true the goose that lays the golden egg for Ferrari. This is evidenced by the commercial results that the Maranello brand has just published for the first quarter of 2023. During the first three months of the year, profit increased by 27% to 537 million euros. Combined with overall price increases for other models, the profit margin increased by 2% compared to last year and now stands at 37.6%. In the same quarter, turnover increased to 1.43 billion euros.
The manufacturer also clarified that hybrid cars make up 35% of deliveries since the beginning of the year.
Arm yourself with patience
The brand also announced that it will resume taking orders for the Purosangue SUV.. Or rather, a raised sports car, as the brand rejects the term SUV for its new model. Therefore, you can now sign the purchase order for this monster, powered by a naturally aspirated, direct-injected 6.5L V12 engine, opened to 65% and placed in a central front position, derived from the engine of the 812 Competizione. It develops approximately 725 hp. at 7,750 rpm and is mated to an 8-speed dual-clutch transmission. The power is more than enough to even move almost 2.2 tons of vehicle as 3.3 seconds is enough to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h!
Almost 400,000 euros!
But to enjoy it, you will have to be patient. Only the models ordered today will be available delivered only in 2026. Or in three years! Ferrari casually confirms its desire to keep Purosangue production below 20% of total production, as announced. A basic check of €390,000 will also need to be paid, to which is likely to be added several tens of thousands of euros of customization – why deprive yourself? – i €30,000 EcoMalus caused by its 393 g CO2/km. And all this provided that you can “show your credentials” and already own a Ferrari, the Italian manufacturer is used to favoring its existing customers.
