Many consider it the best manufacturer of sports cars. Bugatti continues to live up to its legend with special series based on the Chironbefore changing course in the coming years and a new collaboration with Croatian electric supercar maker Rimac.
The Chiron replacement will not be electric. It also won’t have a W16, the Bugatti Mistral being the last model from the manufacturer to feature this now legendary engine. Bugatti should choose a W12 (of course from the Volkswagen group, and more precisely from Bentley) connected to an electric motor.
Three legendary Bugattis gathered in Dorlisheim
But until then, Bugatti continues to deliver its latest cars to customers. Bugatti customers are not that many, given the low production of their cars (and the price, by the way), but some manage to assemble a nice collection.
This is the owner’s business which exhibits its three cars at Château Saint-Jean, in Dorlisheim, the historic home of the brand. So we find the Veyron 16.4 Super Sport World Record Edition, the Veyron 16.4 Grand Sport Vitesse World Record Edition and the Chiron Super Sport 300+. What do these models have in common? Each broke the world speed record.
Three records for history
The first one arrived 431.07 km/h in June 2010 at the Era-Lessien test track — the second 408.84 km/hthereby setting a record in the convertible category, and the latest, the Chiron, approached 500 km/h at high speed. 490.48 km/h. This latest speed record was driven by 24 Hours of Le Mans winner Andy Wallace.
“Every time I come to Molsheim, I not only feel like a special member of the Bugatti family, but I also feel like a part of Bugatti history. Accompanying these cars to the brand’s cradle, where they were born, I felt an even stronger connection to the brand’s extraordinary heritage. My hyper sports cars are at home here, but the team welcomed me with such warmth that I felt at home too. It’s a truly incomparable feeling.”– said the client.
