A few months ago, Mercedes and Bosch unveiled a level 4 autonomous parking system that went live at Stuttgart Airport in Germany.
This system becomes the main function 4 level autonomous parking in the world for official approval for commercial use. The technology works without any driver: it recovers and returns the car to full autonomy.
A stress-free parking solution
Mercedes is now taking it a step further and introducing Parking for Navigation functionality, a technology integrated into the MBUX Mercedes-equipped “Navigation Package”. Starting today, all cars from the star manufacturer equipped with the “Navigation package” can take advantage of the new “Parking with navigation” function.
Thanks to a partnership with Parkopedia, the world leader in parking services, customers can now park in more than 80,000 authorized car parks, paying for parking directly from the dashboard screen. Payment is made through the new Mercedes Pay service, which customers can find directly in the Mercedes app.
Soon in France?
Now, this feature is not available in France. We were contacted by Mercedes France representatives who confirmed to us that this technology will not be coming to us immediately.
The new “Parking for Navigation” function is part of a wide range of services already included in the “Navigation Package”. These include, in addition to the classic voice commands for choosing an address, real-time traffic information, real-time weather forecasts and maps, a local online search function, Car-to-X communication and, finally, whether you are still online -updating maps.
