Spring Dacia, it is the best-selling electric car since the beginning of the year in Francewith 4,783 units sold from early January to late February 2023. And the electric city car from the Romanian manufacturer should continue to drive itself for a year, its unbeatable prices will be different from the rest of the market.

Last year, the Dacia Spring even came close to becoming the best-selling electric car in France. It took second place with 18,326 units, just behind the Peugeot e-208, which found 19,222 customers.

Dacia Spring is already developing

Thus, over the past two years, Vesna has been able to find its audience, among those who want a good little cheap and electric second car, and those looking for an everyday car that is economical and unaffected by the arrival of the ZFE.

Encouraged by this success, Dacia Spring is evolving and now offers its customers more. At the beginning of the year, Dacia presented a new version of the Extreme, p a new engine with a capacity of 65 hp making it more versatile than the 45 hp version sold until now.

From the autonomy side, no changes are visible, as the Extreme version still has it 220 km in the mixed WLTP cycle. Last year, Spring was also held on the test bench of the AutoPlus laboratory. In the real cycle, the small inexpensive electric car traveled 160 km in the real mixed cycle and 205 km in the urban cycle.

Despite this, Dacia claims that its customers’ daily journeys are around 31 km at an average speed of 26 km/h, so the range offered is sufficient in most cases.

Prices have increased

On the other hand, in terms of price, it was a cold shower in two years. Dacia, as with the entire range, continued to revise prices upwards. For individuals, Spring has only been available since October 2021, but in just over a year, its starting price has increased from €16,990 to €20,800i.e. 3,810 euros or 19.61% growth.

Such a general increase in the price of cars is explained, in particular, by a sharp increase in the price of raw materials or even the cost of transporting a car from China.

On the other hand, along with the increase in prices, the size of the bonus also increased. Indeed, since it is limited to 27% of the price, it has increased from 4587 euros to 5,616 euros for the basic trim. However, in 2023 you will only be able to claim this amount if your reference income per unit is less than €14,089. For others, the bonus will be 5,000 euros.
