Rod Stewart is not only one of the most famous singers of the 70s and 80s, he is also a big collector of cars, including Lamborghinis.

He owned several Miuras and at least two Countachs, including a very rare 25thousand anniversary. It was this model that was put up for auction by Bring A Trailer, and the least we can say is, inis that bidders jostle at the gate.

Not just any Lamborghini Countach

Countach 25thousand Jubilee was produced only from 1988 to 1990 658 copies. It is the most powerful and exclusive evolution of this model, and it bears the signature of a very young Horatio Pagani (yes, the “father” of the eponymous brand), who revised some of the car’s aesthetic and aerodynamic elements for the occasion. .

This model is a kind of “restyling” of the Countach, with 3,000 new parts out of the 8,000 that make up the car. The main changes concern the front, with new air intakes or even new side sills.

The car is equipped with a 5.2-liter V12 engine 455 hpallowing it to approach 300 km/h at top speed and accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in less than 5 seconds.

On the way to records?

The Countach up for auction was delivered to Rod Stewart in 1989 and remained in his family until May 2022, when it was acquired by the current seller. The example is completely black, with black paint and interior as well. She had the right to a small mechanical restoration at the level of the engine and suspensions. She was just traveling 12,000 km.

As of this writing, the auction is still ongoing. Currently, the auctions have arrived $505,000approximately €471,000.
