Years go by and Porsche looks similar. 2022 was another great year for the Stuttgart-based firm in particular turnover of 37.63 billion eurosincreased by 13.6%, net profit was 4.95 billion euros (+22.76%), operating margin was 13% and 309,884 cars were delivered in just twelve months (+2.6%).

If we take a closer look at global sales, we find that the 309,884 units delivered in 2022 are mainly driven by the Cayenne (+15%) and Macan (-1.85%), followed by the 911 and Taycan.

The Cayenne is still on top, the 911 is also a hit

in detail, In 2022, 95,604 Cayennes were found worldwide, versus 86,724 Macans. The 911 achieves, as usual, excellent results given the current context, with 40,410 models are registered (+ 5.06%), making it the third best-selling model of the brand, ahead of the Taycan with its 34,801 units (- 15.73%).

The Taycan is followed by the Panamera with 34,142 sales (+12.98%) thanks to a recent successful facelift and the introduction of new hybrid versions. The Porsche Boxster and Cayman duo take the top spot with 18,203 registrations, down 11.21% from the previous year.

More and more electric Porsches

Porsche also used the results announcement to highlight its electric ambitions. In 2024, the electric Macan will appear on our roads after a slight ignition delay, and the electric Porsche 718 Cayman and Boxster – by 2025.

Porsche also confirmed the appearance of the new 100% electric Cayenned. It should appear no earlier than 2026, when the career of the current generation (restyling of which will take place in a few weeks) ends.

At the same time, Porsche will present a completely new model in 2026 or 2027. It will be an SUV larger than the Cayenne, which will act as the standard bearer of the Stuttgart firm. We don’t know much more about this product at the moment, but it’s already been announced as impressive and potentially three times the price of the Cayenne.
