The future of Alfa Romeo will be electric. Even the next Quadrifoglio-branded sports cars will abandon their attractive heat engines and go electric.

A few weeks ago, Jean-Philippe Imparato, the boss of Alfa Romeo, mentioned the appearance of an electric Quadrifoglio with a capacity of at least 1,000 hp. Today, the manager went a little further, telling more about this model.

Fast, in every sense of the word

Thus, according to Autocar journalists, the first electric Quadrifoglio model will be the successor to the Giulia, which should appear in 2027, when all presented new Alfa Romeos will be electric. Giulia power will start from 350 hp. and will reach 800 hp. for Veloce. above, therefore, there will be a powerful version of the Quadrifoglio with a capacity of 1000 hp.

Early rumors point to four-wheel drive for this model and possibly the same three-motor configuration (one in the front and two in the back) as the Maserati GranTurismo Folgore.

Apart from the very high output, Jean-Philippe Imparato claims that the electric Giulia will have advantages with 800 volt architecture allowing the car to charge from 10% to 80% in 18 minutes. The range of electric Giulia will increase to 700 kmeven if at this level the manager has not directly indicated whether it will be the Quadrifoglio version.

“Mandatory” but painless transition

Jean-Philippe Imparato once again emphasizes that Alfa Romeo’s rapid transition to electricity is important “a must if you don’t want the brand to die”but at the same time it reassures fans that there will be a new Giulia “Alpha” what “everyone will want”.
