Owning a car means having rights, but above all responsibilities. Compliance with certain regulations, such as insurance and technical inspection every two years, is indeed mandatory. This is an important step that allows you to assess the health of the vehicle and, above all, to make sure that it does not pose a danger to the driver or other road users. In the event that certain items are faulty, a return visit is requested, which must be carried out within two months.

Many risky cars

There are several types of defects that require technical inspection. But the most serious of them is known as a critical failure. This applies, for example, to cars whose braking has lost at least 50% of its efficiency or whose the tire is worn. In this case, concerned motorists have only 24 hours to carry out repairs, at the risk of being disqualified. Worryingly, many of these cars remain unaccounted for, with research by Mobilians explaining that there will be more than 160,000 unsafe cars in circulation.

Undetected cars

However, these critical failures were introduced only in 2021 0.74% of inspections carried out throughout the year. But many cars are not taken into account, they simply do not pass the control. But then, what explains these abandoned cars. Inflation may be the reason, as many motorists can no longer afford to properly maintain their car due to rising prices. The cost of parts and labor has really skyrocketed in recent months.
