
THE MBUX infotainment system (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) built into the new Mercedes C-Class (W206 from June 2021) and S-Class (W223 from June to November 2021, including Maybach) can now receive new remote update over-the-air (OTA) that provides “MBUX Zero Layer” functionality.
This technology “Zero Layer” has already installed MBUX systems on board the 100% electric Mercedes EQE and EQS, and now it will be available to C and S class customers without going to the dealership:

MBUX Zero Layer: a clearer and more intelligent interface
This update brings changes to the user interface the MBUX infotainment system, which becomes clearer thanks to a large map view, as well as individual selection buttons that can be operated intuitively, without the need to go to submenus. Smart, this system learns know the driver’s habitsand offers personalized functions adapted to the current road situation.
For example, if the user has a habit of calling a certain number at the same time every day, the car remembers this habit and will later offer to make a call at that time, using the button located in the top menu on the Zero Level interface. The driver can reject this offer using the “Don’t offer now” button or remove it using “Don’t offer again”. To complement these features, GPS navigation will now always be at the center of the interface.
The MBUX system also usesArtificial Intelligence offer the driver more than 20 additional functions: massage programs, requests for information about the status of devices connected to the house, or even other intelligent suggestions.
MBUX Zero Layer: Free Upgrade
technologies MBUX level zero was launched in 2021 on the all-electric EQS and EQE models, and became standard on the latest Mercedes C-Class (W206) and S-Class (W223, including Maybach). Customers with a compatible vehicle will be notified when a software update is available directly on the MBUX infotainment screen and via the Mercedes me app.
A remote update (or OTA for “over the air”) is available free, and its download and installation takes place in the background after user consent. Remote software updates are possible using mobile technology and a communication module installed in the vehicle.
