Since 2015, Germans from Alpine camper develop interior equipment for established vans based on various models such as Opel Vivaro and Combo, Peugeot Partner, Citroën Berlingo, Volkswagen Caddy or even Transporter T5 and T6.

It is only natural that the new 100% electric generation of the Transporter, which Volkswagen has dubbed the ID. Buzz caught the attention of the Alpinecamper teams: they presented us with their vision at the latest CMT recreational vehicle show in Stuttgart ID. Buzz is transformed into a converted van. Which helps us wait for the arrival of the official California version in the range of the German manufacturer, which should not enter the market before 2025.

Alpinecamper ID. Buzz: A dynamic look

The presented model is the ID Cargo 204 hp version. Buzz with one side door located on the right side of the car: on the outside, Alpincamper chose the ID. All-white Buzz, which, however, has to be the base shade most often chosen by customers. Ditch the two-tone shades that caught the eye of many during the official launch…

To give the car a more dynamic look, the German assembler added a black front and gray and black stripes on the sides. The sheet metal panels that replace the windows are painted black to give the impression of side windows and to remove some of the “utilitarian” aspect of the model.

Alpinecamper ID. Buzz: quite simple interior

Inside, the layout is fairly simple, opting for pastel shades of avocado green for the rounded furniture, and light materials such as wood and felt for the walls, not to mention green tartan fabric for the bench. Located on the left side of the vehicle, it can be converted into a 120 x 195 cm double bed at night.

Opposite is a small kitchen set equipped with an induction stove and sink, a 20-liter Dometic refrigerator, and various storage spaces. The 12 liter fresh and waste water tanks are hidden under the sink, while the amenities are gas-free and electric-only, just like the ID. Buzz! Illuminated storage units are present on each side, while LED lighting acts as mood lighting on the ceiling.

Alpinecamper ID. Buzz: retractable roof for more space

Here, too, we discover the mushroom-shaped sliding roof of the Reimo brand, which allows us to offer a higher interior height of up to 1.84 meters. However, the advantages of this device in practice remain quite limited, since it does not allow the use of kitchen equipment while standing, as well as the addition of additional beds.

Alpincamper has not yet released the price for its implementation on the Volkswagen ID. Buzz, which is currently only in the prototype stage. However, the German developer does not usually sell its products on the French market: so you will have to wait for other competing offers, which should increase in the coming months, to offer you an ID.
