
Volvo’s EV division hasn’t launched in France yet, but when it does, we’ll see this new, improved version Polar star 2its 100% electric sedan.
Indeed, even if the changes are too restrained to speak of a real restyling, Polestar will renew this year technical developments that the group has already applied for 100% electric versions of the Volvo XC40 and C40 with, according to the program, more power and autonomy.
Polestar 2: a little discreet retouching
Aesthetically, the model changes very little: we will notice this 2023 version by the presence of a new full grillebaptized SmartZone and this we find, for example, on the Polestar 3. It, in particular, has a built-in camera, as well as a radar that allows you to control the driver assistance systems.
On the optional Performance Pack, new Forged wheels 20 inches make their appearance: similar to the Polestar 3 SUV, they have a sportier look thanks to the multi-spoke design and sophisticated two-tone finish. Gold brake calipers also complete this exterior.
Polestar 2: more power
The real changes can be found under the hood: the Polestar 2’s “Single Motor” engines are now equipped with an electric motor that develops up to 299 hp and 490 Nm of torque (in the Long Range version), up from 231 hp and 330 Nm before. This development improves its performance: acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h takes 6.2 seconds, which is 1.2 seconds better than the previous version.
The Dual Motor engines also gain power, with the Long Range version now developing 421 hp and 740 Nm of torque, up from 408 hp and 660 Nm before: 0 to 100 km/h takes 4.5 seconds and 4.2 seconds. seconds with the optional Performance Pack, pushing the power to 476 horsepower.
Polestar 2: increased range and faster charging
The Long Range versions have a Battery 82 kWh which makes it possible to offer range up to 635 km on Single Motor or 592 km on Dual Motor. This means, respectively, an increase of 84 and 105 additional kilometers compared to the previous version. The “Standard Range” battery is 69 kWh and can travel up to 518 km, which is 40 km more than the previous version.
Polestar 2 is now compatible with a the maximum charging power is 205 kW (135 kW in the “Standard Range” version), which allows faster charging with compatible DC terminals.
This new version of the Polestar 2 is already available to order in European markets at a starting price. from €50,190first deliveries are expected in the first quarter of 2023. Polestar has yet to announce an entry into the French market, so we’ll still have to wait to be able to order one!
