Toyota Canada is launching alternative mobility solutions and will bring to market in partnership with Twelve cyclesand cargo bike which will be distributed in 300 dealerships in the Toyota France network from September 2023.

Indeed, Toyota wants to transform itself to become the world’s first mobile device company, and is growing mobile solutions of which the bike is a part: the cargo bike is seen here as an ideal complement to the electrified van because last mile delivery.

Toyota cargo motorcycle: 10 years of experience

Entitled Douze Cycles x Toyota Mobility, this new bike is an electric two-wheeler with 10 years of cargo bike experience from Douze Cycles, a French cargo bike specialist based near Dijon in Burgundy.

It has a large and strong cast aluminum frame and an 850mm long loading platform designed to match the overall style of the model, with various attachment points on the platform.

Toyota cargo motorcycle: many possibilities

The Toyota cargo bike is aimed at both individuals and professionals, which can transport up to 100 kg of large and heavy loads, on the floor of the platform or in a large box with a volume of 300 liters. A hitch can also be added to increase transport capabilities.

The persons This cargo bike can be used to transport up to three children or even an adult thanks to the box made of foamed polypropylene on an aluminum frame, which provides greater safety. Adjustable straps are available, as well as a comfortable and breathable seat and back, not to mention a stool.

Cargo bike with an electric drive

The Douze Cycles x Toyota Mobility cargo bike features an electric assist system that gets its power from Yamaha 250W motor (nominal). It feeds on a Battery 500 W*h, removable for recharging from a standard outlet. It takes 4 hours to fully charge, and autonomy can go up to 100 kilometers.

Toyota has yet to announce pricing for its cargo bike developed in partnership with Douze Cycles, but we should know more from its launch is planned for the beginning of the 2023 academic year.
