There are dates that mean changes, but rarely for the better. We’re thinking about January 1, the day the government puts most of its new measures into effect, and about February 1. There are also many events on this date, and this is not always good news for motorists, on the contrary. And it will be especially relevant this year. In fact, the first day of February is the time when road companies raise their tolls. And in 2023, a real surge awaits us, which we will talk about in detail below.
Fuel, tolls, additional costs, trips to departure are overpriced.

Sharp rise
Indeed, if we found that 2% growth in 2022 was already huge, it is nothing compared to what lies ahead. Because increasing this time will be in order 4.75% on average throughout the territory. A real surge in prices, in an already difficult period of inflation. But everything is connected, and companies managing highways have the right to transfer 70% of the latter in price increases. But in 2023, it can be very painful for drivers who are already caught by the throat of rising fuel prices, despite the help of 100 euros for the most modest.
The variable increases
Of course, not all highways are equally affected. The A9 between Toulouse and Narbonne-Sud will require an extra euro, and to get to Toulouse-Sud and Le Perthus, the increase will be approximately EUR 1.60. This should scare off many motorists, although many have postponed their vacations due to the costs being too high. And, unfortunately, it should not be better.
Why is this important? The first motorway without a toll barrier opens in Allier: a model for the future? – https://t.co/TX5r8CJ1uh
