ZFEs (low emission zones) have existed in France for several years. Then it’s a system based on the Crit’Air sticker, which bans access to some major cities for older cars. Then they are effectively deemed too polluting and shut down, often within a week, as in Paris. Obviously very discriminatory, especially towards those who cannot afford to buy a newer and therefore “cleaner” car. And it shouldn’t get any better, while all major cities with populations over 150,000 will soon become ZEPs.
WARNING ! Since 2015 and the appearance of Crit’Air vignettes, traffic restrictions apply to certain vehicles in large cities. Shall we summarize together? π #MyMoreResponsibleProject

A new draft law
A measure that particularly annoys motorists’ protection associations, which regularly try to change the situation. This is especially true 40 million motorists, currently in the process of drafting a bill aimed at making these ZEPs more flexible. It will soon be presented to the National Assembly for consideration. He then explains that β we propose to make a bad law very good. We told ourselves that we will keep the ZFE, that we will keep the perimeter (metropolitan cities with a population of more than 150,000). We’ll just add an amendment. We will amend this law. Β»
A more flexible system
The press secretary of the association, reports Avto-Moto, explains that ” vehicles covered by ZFE (Crit’Air 3, 4, 5 and beyond) will be able to receive a humiliating and annual title provided they pass ecological verification“. This will be done in technical control centers. In this way, it will allow old but well-maintained cars to still be able to circulate, saving the most modest motorists from having to buy a new car. It remains to be seen if this offer will be accepted…
