Toyota has just officially introduced Toyota bZ3, the second model in the brand’s bZ (“Beyond Zero”) family of electric vehicles after the bZ4X SUV. It 100% electric sedan based on the e-TNGA platform, was developed for the Chinese market by the BYD Toyota EV Technology joint venture as a result of a partnership between Toyota and BYD, and will be manufactured and sold in China by FAW Toyota.
Inspired by the Toyota bZ SDN concept unveiled last year, this model is 4.73 meters long, 1.84 meters wide and 1.48 meters tall, all with a 2.88 meter wheelbase. Its dimensions are close to those of the Tesla Model 3, one of its main competitors.
Toyota bZ3: a futuristic sedan
The Toyota bZ3 sedan has futuristic and clean lines with air ducts, flush door handles, wheels with an optimized design, as well as a rear bumper designed to reduce air resistance: thus the model demonstrates Cd 0.218. There’s a large windshield, large glass sections and a long wheelbase that contribute to life on board: Toyota wants this model to offer space for spending time with family and friends, rather than just a vehicle.
The spacious interior stands out “Digital Island” : the driver’s seat, equipped with a digital instrument screen above the steering wheel, a large vertical touch screen located in the center of the dashboard, which provides access to all the functions of the car, as well as a horizontal console with a gear selector and an induction charger for mobile devices.
The Toyota bZ3 has been spotted completely undisguised in the Middle Kingdom with a strong design influence from last year’s bZ SDN Concept. Additionally, the all-new model will run on the automaker’s e-TNGA platform and could be offered with a range of around 220 miles. electrical range pic.twitter.com/dCxZuK0tKk
