And will life in Paris be healthier than in the rest of Ile-de-France? At first glance, we still have great doubts, especially when we know the level of congestion in the capital, in particular due to the policies implemented Anne Hidalgo. And yet, it would seem, this is actually the case, as it is not surprising. Indeed, this conclusion was reached by the AirParif organization, which claims that there are fewer ultrafine particles in the capital than outside it. We explain everything about this amazing study!

Main polluted roads
According to a survey carried out by the organization responsible for monitoring the air in Paris, the level of fine particles registered near three roads in Ile-de-France will be two to five times higher than that recorded in Paris. Indeed, and as the study clarifies, it would be approximately 9200 particles per cm3 in the very center of the capital. A number that then rises to 23,200 particles per cm3 near the device. Worse, it can reach 53,300 particles per cm3 near a national road such as the N118, which is particularly busy. Suffice it to say, these numbers are far from encouraging, while the WHO says the rate becomes alarming when it exceeds 10,000 particles per cm3 in a 24-hour period.

Hazardous particles
But why are small particles a problem? As already explained, in 2019National Agency for Environmental Health Protection (ANSES), these particles are particularly dangerous because they can penetrate deeper into our bodies due to their small size. Then they are especially involved in the development of cardiovascular and respiratory diseases.
